District Assessments

Texas

Along with the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR), Legacy Traditional Schools use other assessments to inform instruction and monitor growth. Below you will find information about these district assessments, MAP and Reading Fluency, which allows LTS to measure student academic growth with other students their age across the nation.

Measures of Academic Progress (MAP)

MAP measures what your student knows. By having measurements of student achievement, teachers and others are able to monitor academic progress. This assessment keeps you informed on the progress of your child in basic skill areas. There are two portions to MAP: reading and math, which are given to all students in every grade level.

NWEA Reading Fluency

The NWEA Reading Fluency assessment is given to students in grades K-3 to screen and assess literacy. This assessment is used to individualize instruction, set goals, and track the progress of a student’s skills. Students who do not meet the benchmarks will receive additional interventions and support. This assessment also is used as a dyslexia screener.
