August 12, 2020Onsite Support Services (AZ)

On Aug. 6, the Arizona Department of Health Services released new guidance for Arizona schools, to assist in their decision to safely reopen. Based on this guidance, Legacy campuses in Arizona made the difficult decision to delay the start of in-person learning.

We realize that some children may not have a safe place to continue learning online after Aug. 17. In order to assist students who will not have a safe option for virtual learning during the day, Legacy schools will make a physical space available for them on campus between 8 a.m. and 2:40 p.m.

Children will still have to participate in online learning while they are on campus. Students will be provided with a space to study, an internet connection and adult supervision during normal school hours.

To complete online learning while on campus, students may only bring a Legacy-issued laptop with them to school, for security purposes. It is important that students bring a Legacy-issued laptop, because there will be very limited computers available on campus for students to use. Your child will also need to bring their own set of headphones for online learning.

Students will be able to purchase breakfast and lunch from the school while on campus or bring their own from home.

Students are not required to be in uniform while on campus but must follow Legacy’s dress code for dress down days (pg. 54 in the Parent/Student Handbook).

Your child will need to wear a face covering while on campus.

If you are in need of onsite support services, you will need to complete a form by 4 p.m. every Thursday for the following week, indicating which day(s) your child will need to be on campus.

We must limit numbers, so please ensure you are not requesting this support unless it is for the safety of your child. If we are unable to maintain effective physical distancing due to a high number of students on campus, the district has the authority to develop criteria for student eligibility for onsite support services.
