Legacy Traditional Schools’ Students Outperform AzMERIT State Averages

All grades exceed state averages in English Language Arts and Math

Chandler, AZ – Legacy Traditional Schools, Arizona’s largest and highest-quality network of public K-8, tuition-free charter schools, today released the AzMERIT scores for all 12 of their Arizona schools.

Legacy’s students scored 24% higher in both English Language Arts and Math than the Arizona State Average. Additionally, district-wide Legacy 3rd graders outperformed the state average on English Language Arts by 24 points, while district-wide, Legacy 6th graders outperformed the state average on Math by 25 points.

“We saw continuing gains for all grade levels in our 2017 AzMERIT results compared to 2016,” said Bill Bressler, Chief Academic Officer of Legacy Traditional Schools. “These results underscore the fact that Legacy’s back-to-basics and accelerated curriculum provides our students with a quality, well-rounded education.”
