Masterminds STEM Curriculum
The Masterminds STEM program provides a structured, future-focused learning experience that integrates science, technology, engineering, and math through daily application and hands-on inquiry. This initiative expands students’ learning pathways and supports future-ready instruction aligned with student interests and computer science skills.
Masterminds STEM is currently only available at the following campuses starting with the 2026-27 school year for grades 3-6: Surprise, Gilbert, Chandler, North Chandler, Peoria, and Queen Creek.
Coding & Computer Science
Students learn sequencing, algorithms, debugging, and introductory programming concepts. They will explore the role of artificial intelligence as a tool for enhancing creativity, improving coding efficiency, and understanding real-world technological applications.
Project-Based Learning
Students engage in authentic, career-connected projects that mirror the work of engineers, scientists, and designers. They investigate problems, analyze data, design solutions, and create products that demonstrate their learning. This approach builds critical thinking, collaboration, and perseverance.
Robotics with LEGO® Education
Using motors, sensors, and block-based programming, students work in teams to design, test, and refine robotic solutions. Robotics is intentionally hands-on and encourages creativity, teamwork, and iterative problem-solving.
Digital Literacy & Productivity Tools
Students develop foundational digital skills using Google Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Forms. They create purposeful digital artifacts, such as presentations, reports, and data displays, building confidence and readiness for future academic tasks.
Science & Engineering Fair Projects (Grades 5-6)
Older students deepen their STEM experience by completing a Science & Engineering Fair project. They learn how to ask meaningful questions, conduct experiments, analyze results, and confidently present their findings.
