Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions? We’re here to help.

What is a charter school? Are charter schools accredited?

A charter school is a public school that families can choose instead of their assigned neighborhood school. Charter schools are tuition-free, non-religious, and open to all students. They follow state education standards but have more flexibility in how they teach, allowing for more personalized and innovative learning.

Charter schools are authorized through each states’ Department of Education and/or Charter Board. Legacy Traditional Schools is in good standing with its authorizer and is also fully accredited by Cognia, a nationally recognized nonprofit that accredits K–12 schools based on rigorous standards for teaching, learning, and continuous improvement.

How much is tuition?

Always zero! Legacy Traditional School is tuition-free, just like any other public school. As a public charter school, we are not allowed to charge tuition. Families never pay to enroll, and there are no application fees or deposits. Some clubs or extracurricular activities may have optional fees, but attending our school is always free.

Yes, Legacy Traditional School is a public charter school. That means it is tuition-free, open to all students, and follows the same academic expectations as other public schools. Families can expect a high-quality education with a learning environment focused on helping students thrive.
