Legacy Online Academy is tuition-free and available from kindergarten through 8th grade.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can my child switch between Legacy Online Academy and in-person learning at a Legacy Traditional School?
No. Due to state regulations, there will no longer be an opportunity to switch between in-person and online learning during the school year.
Legacy Online Academy is its own LTS campus. If you would like to attend Legacy Online Academy, you will need to withdraw from your current LTS campus. If you enroll in Legacy Online Academy and later decide to attend an in-person LTS campus, you will need to withdraw from Legacy Online Academy and transfer to the LTS campus of your choice, pending availability.
Are there residency requirements?
Yes. Legacy Online Academy is only available to Arizona residents.
I believe my child can skip a grade. Can I enroll them for the next grade?
As a part of the educational community, we respect the decisions of other educational institutions and professionals. Therefore, a student who adequately completed a grade level at a previous school can only enroll in the next sequential grade level available.
What are the attendance requirements?
Each online student will be required to log in to Schoology daily to track their attendance, except in the case of illness or an emergency (A.R.S. § 15-901). Students may log in to Schoology any time between the hours of 12 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. to complete their schoolwork each day.
However, the number of hours each student spends engaged in online learning each week should average out to at least the following number of hours per day, per grade:
- Kindergarten = 2 hours
- 1st–3rd grade = 4 hours
- 4th–6th grade = 5 hours
- 7th–8th grade = 6 hours
These hours are required.
