Purple Star School

Legacy Traditional School – SW Las Vegas is proudly designated as a “Purple Star School” with the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC). MCEC Purple Star Schools specialize in supporting military-connected children as they relocate to new schools due to a parent’s change in duty station.

We support military-connected children and families by:

• Introducing Military Welcome Ambassador Team that helps introduce new military families and supports existing families
• Providing links to events that highlight activities featuring military students, families, and veterans
• Designating a resource board for students and military families with postings of community and school-wide events, and special interest activities that highlight and support military families
• Hosting school-wide military appreciation events celebrating our military families
• Facilitating regular support groups for students of active military parents/guardian
• Providing priority status in the school’s enrollment process for children of active-duty families
